How It Started

Friends, late nights, and an idea that stuck.

Stoked wasn’t dreamed up in a boardroom. It started with friends and family chasing what everyone wants after a long week: a place that feels alive.

01

The Idea

A place built for play.

It started the way a lot of good things do, with friends sitting around talking about what didn’t exist yet. Somewhere that felt like your favorite bar, but with the spark and laughter of game night. Not another chain concept or slick franchise, but a real spot — the kind of place that felt like it had already been part of the neighborhood forever.

They kept circling the same idea: what if adults had a space to play again? Not the kind of play that needs trophies or scoreboards, but the kind that happens when music’s good, the lights are low, and people actually talk to each other. A place where you can grab a drink, catch up, and end up in the middle of a friendly competition before you even realize it.

They hunted for locations and joked about what it would take to actually pull it off. Eventually the joking stopped. The idea stuck. The group became a crew, the dream became a plan, and before long the hunt for a building — and a name — began. They called it Stoked because that’s what they were. And that’s still the goal every night: to create a place that brings that same feeling to everyone who walks in.

02

The Place

Built by hand.

When they found the building, it was little more than a shell — tired brick, scarred floors, and layers of history from another era. It had good bones and great light, but it needed everything else. Most people would have seen a teardown. They saw possibility.

It was a constant experiment in making things work: some nights running wire, other nights painting, testing lights, adjusting sound. Every stool, machine, and detail was placed with intent. The lighting was half found, half fabricated, and every corner holds a bit of improvisation.

When it was finally done, the space didn’t feel new. It felt revived. The smell of fresh varnish mixed with decades of memory. The walls still tell their story if you listen close. Now, instead of dust and echoes, there’s laughter, music, and the roll of pins falling. The building that had once gone quiet found its voice again.

03

The Vibe

The kind of energy you can’t fake.

By the time the lights flip on each night, the room already feels alive. The sound of a ball striking pins, the click of arcade buttons, the hum of conversation from the bar — it all blends into a rhythm that belongs only to this place. It is noise, but it is the good kind, the kind that makes you want to stay a little longer.

The crowd changes from night to night. Coworkers unwind after a long week, couples try their luck on first dates, and regulars pick up their friendly rivalries right where they left off. Somehow it all feels familiar. That is the thing about Stoked. It does not matter who you are or where you are from. Once you are here, you are part of the story.

The vibe cannot be faked or forced. It comes from the mix of people who show up and make the space their own. It lives in the shared jokes, the music, the drinks, and the laughter that rises above it all. It is not nostalgia. It is connection — proof that the best nights are not planned, they just happen.

Thrive Local

Local Love.

Stoked lives inside a building that could have been forgotten, but instead became proof of what’s possible when people care enough to bring something back to life—a spirit that now defines everything we do, from who we hire to who we buy from.

We partner with local brewers, builders, and artists who share that same love of craft and community, because keeping it local keeps it real.
